Monday Yarns – Knit in Class Fiber Studio

Today I did a swatch with a yarn by Knits in Class Fiber Studio which was in the July Phat Fiber box. The yarn is named “Art Nouveau” and is a sport weight yarn which is 75% super wash merino/ 25% nylon. I love the colors in this variegated yarn which include rust, brown, orange, green, aqua blue all blended together. The yarn has a nice elasticity and was easy to knit. It feels good on the skin and no itchies for me (wool can irritate my skin). It would make a great sweater, hat or glove combo for the winter ahead. Check out Knit in Class for other offerings.

  1. Beautiful colors in this yarn! I will most definitely check out Knits In Class – thanks for the information.

Being a new knitter, I have become quite the “yarn junkie” so I attended Stitches Midwest this past weekend – what an absolutely, overwhelmingly fabulous experience it was for me, a new knitter! Karen, if you have never attended or if you can attend an upcoming Stitches event – run, don’t walk!!! Amazing vendors with yarn/fiber selections out of this world and the latest and greatest knitting gizmos and toys – a must attend for anyone who LOVES knitting/crocheting or any craft that requires a needle.

    • I have been trying to make a Stitches weekend for a few years. Not successful yet can’t make this years Stitches East but I am on schedule to attend Vogue Knitting Live in New York City in January. Since I live in New Jersey I can do day trips which fits in the budget. I am told you can lose your mind at one of these things LOL! Did you buy anything or take any classes? Would love to know

  2. Good way to put it, YES I did lose my mind!

I bought beautiful hand dyed sock yarn from Creatively Dyed Yarn out of Greer, SC and some absolutely fabulous 100% silk Araucania Chaiten in a blue/taupe colorway, lots of other sock yarns and a gorgeous deep charcoal colorway wool-cashmere blend that is destined for a winter wrap. I was also able to find long cable circular needles and lots of great patterns and gizmos. I set a budget for my visit, but of course I went over it – no surprise there. ;-) I also took a class on Short Rows that was quite good – I now understand the whys of short rows

PLEASE blog about your Vogue Knitting Live visit – I would love to hear about it. I’ve already marked my calendar for Stitches Midwest 2012!!!
